09 Mar 2015 Pinnacle Mountain to host two hiking worshops
Pinnacle Mountain State Park is hosting two upcoming workshops.
The first, called “Packing for Hiking 101,” is from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, March 14. Justine Baker, from Ozark Outdoor Supply, will be at the park visitor center to teach you everything you need to know about packing for a hiking or backpacking trip. She has years of experience on the trail and is an excellent speaker. She will be able to answer any and all hiking/backpacking questions.
The second, titled “Ouachita Trail Hiking Workshop.” is 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, March 15. This is a workshop for intermediate to advanced hikers who would like to learn more about the Ouachita Trail itself, including what to expect, what to pack, how to purify water and more. Justine Baker, from Ozark Outdoor Supply, will be leading this workshop, and is encouraging participants to bring their own packs for a “checkup.”
The workshops are $5 per person and you can register by calling 501.868.5806 or stopping by the Visitor Center.
