Physicians to discuss sports concussions

Three area physician experts will lead a discussion about concussions in sports at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept 18, at Conway Regional Medical Center. The program will be held in the medical center auditorium.

Tim Freyaldenhoven, MD, PhD, Thad Hardin, MD, and David Naylor, MD, will discuss signs, symptoms and treatment of concussions. The free presentation will include a question and answer session for parents, coaches and others who would like to learn more about concussions.

Each of the speakers has extensive experience in treating concussions. Freyaldenhoven, a physician with the Conway Regional Neuroscience Center, has practiced neurology in Faulkner County for more than 15 years.

Hardin and Naylor are both family medicine physicians at Banister-Lieblong Clinic. Hardin has been in practice at Banister-Lieblong for eight years and is the team physician for Conway Christian High School and Central Baptist College. Naylor has practiced at Banister-Lieblong for 19 years and is team physician at Conway High School.

Parents of children participating in athletics are encouraged to attend. The program is sponsored by the Conway Regional Comprehensive Sports Outreach Program. The program provides sports medicine services to schools and colleges throughout Faulkner County.
