Person of the Month: Jason Aultman

City: Conway.

Work: Antioch Baptist Church.

Community activities: My kids are at an age where they are involved in many things (ball-playing, horse-riding, track-running) so most of my activities currently involve their activities.

Church activities: Antioch allows me the privilege of serving as pastor.

Family: Wife, Toya; son, Turner (15); and daughter, Landri (11). Two dogs, one cat and a hermit crab round out the zoo.

Education: I grew up in Jacksonville, Texas, so I went to high school and junior college there. I have a bachelor’s degree from Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas, a master’s from BMA Theological Seminary in Jacksonville and a doctorate from Southern Seminary in Louisville, Ky.

Last book you read: “Kingdom Man” by Tony Evans.

Favorite book: The Bible would be the top of that list. Many others would fall under that.

Favorite meal: Pretty much whatever is put in front of me. I like to eat!

Most cherished possession: One of my grandfathers was a pastor for many decades.  I have a typewriter that he used to write many sermons. We also have a chair that was a wedding gift to my other grandparents. Both things are reminders of a heritage of faithfulness that has been entrusted to me.

Most enjoyed weekend activity: Varies with the time of year. A morning in the deer woods is hard to beat in the fall. Some time to work in the yard or wet a hook in the warmer months is great.

Favorite quote: “Your walk talks and your talk talks but your walk talks louder than your talk talks.”

No. 1 vacation spot: New England in the fall. (My wife is a travel agent and great vacation planner, so pretty much wherever she tells me I want to go!)

Favorite place in Arkansas: So many great options I’d be hard pressed to pick one.

What do you love about living in the 501: It’s a progressive, vibrant, growing area that still has a down-home feel.  Beautiful area filled with great folks.
