PCSSD hires new superintendent

PULASKI COUNTY — Effective July 1, the Pulaski County Special School District (PCSSD) will have a new superintendent. Jeff Senn, current superintendent at Lonoke Public School District, will return to PCSSD and assume the role of district leader.

Jeff Senn

Senn first came to work for PCSSD in 2009 as a principal at North Pulaski High School and later, in the same role, at Maumelle High School. After the 2020-2021 school year, he left to fill the role as superintendent of Lonoke Public School District, a position he’s held for the past four years.

Immediately following the Board of Education’s announcement, which passed with a 7-0 vote from all members, Senn thanked the board for their trust to allow him to come back to PCSSD and fill this role. When he takes over next school year, his primary goal is to focus on providing educational opportunities for all students, no matter what their background.

“Whether our students choose to go to a university, a trade school, or directly into the workforce, we’re going to focus on all the individual needs,” said Senn. “It’s about providing those opportunities for the kids, so they know they have a future that fits them best.”

Although Senn spent more than a decade as a building administrator with PCSSD, he understands that it will take time to build relationships with employees — old and new.

“I’m looking forward to building new relationships with the new staff who started since I’ve been gone,” Senn stated. “And I’m ready to strengthen relationships with those I worked with previously when I was here.”

Senn negotiated a three-year contract with PCSSD that will go into effect on July 1, 2025 and continue through June 30, 2028. According to his contract, his annual salary will be $274,500 with leave time, vehicle allowance and reimbursements negotiated into the contract as well.
