Park Plaza’s Denim Days benefit Women & Children First

LITTLE ROCK — Park Plaza, Little Rock’s premier shopping and retail destination, announces Denim Days, a campaign to recycle denim and support community impact, from July 15-30.

Denim is one of the fall’s hottest fashion trends, and Denim Days allows shoppers to donate worn-out denim — jeans, jackets, dresses, shirts, and more — at participating retailers inside Park Plaza while refreshing their wardrobes. Park Plaza will donate shoppers’ used denim and other clothing to Women & Children First, a Little Rock nonprofit that helps survivors of family violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking.

“Park Plaza is focused on making a difference in our community and Denim Days offers a great opportunity to have a meaningful impact,” Second Horizon Capital Managing Partner and Co-Founder Camilo Varela said. “Our shoppers get to help some of our most vulnerable neighbors through Women & Children First, and their recycled denim will help our environment by keeping textile waste out of landfills.”

Retailers collecting donations will include Altar’d State, Buckle, Eddie Bauer, and H&M, and Park Plaza will have other collection boxes on each level of the mall. H&M is offering donors 15% off their total in-store purchases. Shoppers will also have a chance to register to win a denim up-cycle from American Butt Clothing of New York, which creates new fashions from recycled denim.

Park Plaza will present its donations to Women & Children First on August 3 during Park Plaza’s Back-to-School Bash, which takes place during Arkansas’ tax-free weekend. To learn more about Denim Days or Park Plaza, visit parkplazamall.com.
