18 Oct 2011 Octoberfest a ‘huge’ success
This year’s Octoberfest at Sacred Heart Catholic School in Morrilton was one for the books, with record profits generated for the school.
The day-long event included a 5K Run/Walk and participation in the DriveOne4UrSchool program with Allison Ford Lincoln Mercury. The evening was host to a bake sale, an all-you-can-eat turkey and dressing dinner with all the trimmings, games for all ages and a silent auction.
In addition to the usual cash raffle, a restored 1966 Ford Mustang was given away during the event.
Businesses and individuals involved in the raffle were Roberson Tire, Allan Upchurch, Lisa’s Banners & Signs, Danny’s Electronics, Westside Auto, McKey’s Car Care, Koch’s Body Shop, Henson’s Radiator Shop, Central Locksmith, Freedy and Steve Guinn and Hoyt Stone.
The Mustang was awarded to Doug Dean of Conway. Cash raffle winners included Martha Fougerousse, Delores Hartman and David Ruff.
All proceeds from Octoberfest directly benefit Sacred Heart Catholic School, a fully-accredited educational community dedicated to Catholic Christian values, service, respect for self and others and academic excellence.
