NPC to premiere men’s basketball national championship documentary

HOT SPRINGS — National Park College (NPC) will hold a premiere screening of its men’s basketball national championship documentary, “STAY DOWN: A Championship Story,” at 3 p.m. Monday, Nov. 11, in the Eisele Auditorium in the Frederick M. Dierks Center for Nursing and Health Sciences at NPC.

“STAY DOWN: A Championship Story” is a 47-minute film that takes viewers on a gritty and emotional journey from Hot Springs to Danville, Ill., with a behind-the-scenes look at NPC’s historic run to the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division 2 National Championship. Featuring exclusive player interviews and never-before-seen footage inside team practices, the locker room and the many celebrations that followed, fans will be able to revisit the year-long journey with the team that made history for NPC. In addition to the screening, attendees will hear from NPC Athletics staff and have an opportunity to meet this year’s 2024-25 men’s basketball team with a home game against Central Baptist College following at 5:30 p.m. in The Kettle. The film premiere event is free and open to the public. Game tickets are $5 at the door.

National Park College was established in 1973 and is located in Hot Springs (Garland County). The College enrolls over 7,000 credit and non-credit students per year. NPC is a comprehensive two-year institution offering associate degrees and certificates as well as continuing education, community services and workforce training.
