NORTH LITTLE ROCK — Mayor Terry Hartwick will sign a two-year contract for the North Little Rock Fraternal Order of Police, Lodge #5, and the North Little Rock Police Department Supervisors Association at 1:30 p.m. on Jan. 30th. The signing will occur in the Community Room at the North Little Rock Justice Center located at #1 Justice Center Drive.
Both contracts are negotiated every two years, and this signing renews the city’s unwavering commitment to public safety with a continued focus on recruiting and retention in the North Little Rock Police Department. Detective Michael Gibbons, president of the NLR Fraternal Order of Police, and Captain Brian Dedrick, president of the NLR Police Department Supervisors Association, together shared, “We are grateful for the long-standing support the Mayor, the North Little Rock City Council and the citizens of North Little Rock have shown our officers. It is the partnership that makes our city so great! There is much heart and much love in North Little Rock. We are a family.
“We are committed and focused on continuing to recruit and retain the best police officers in Arkansas,” the mayor said. “Our salaries and benefits are competitive, and we want to provide the best for everyone in North Little Rock.”
Chief Patrick Thessing said, “These contracts will encourage our tenured officers to continue serving our city and will make our vacant positions very attractive to those who wish to start their career in law enforcement at the North Little Rock Police Department.”
