The Newcomers Club of Conway recently installed 2011-12 officers at a picnic at Beaverfork Lake.

The club works to facilitate individuals in their efforts to acclimate to Conway and form new friendships.

Members meet on the second Thursday of every month for a business meeting and luncheon. The club also has several card groups, a gourmet group and a photography group. Members also enjoy a book club and a line dancing group.

Organized in 1976, membership has grown from seven members to almost 200. One of the original members, Ingrid Stallings, celebrated 35 years with the group this year.
