Mosaic Templars Cultural Center offers registration for MLK Challenge through Friday

LITTLE ROCK — Mosaic Templars Cultural Center (MTCC) invites students ages 12–18 to participate in its annual MLK Challenge, a day of service and civic engagement honoring the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., on Monday, January 19.

Designed to engage young people in meaningful action, the MLK Challenge encourages students to develop leadership skills, civic responsibility, and a deeper understanding of how service strengthens communities. “Engaging young people in service is one of the most meaningful ways we can honor Dr. King’s legacy,” said Key Fletcher, director of Mosaic Templars Cultural Center. “The MLK Challenge empowers students to see themselves as leaders today, not just in the future, and to understand the impact they can have when they commit to serving others.”

The program is grounded in Dr. King’s enduring belief that service is accessible to all. As Dr. King famously stated, “Everybody can be great, because everybody can serve.” Through hands-on activities and guided reflection, students will have the opportunity to live out this principle while making a tangible difference in their community.

Participants will engage in age-appropriate service activities at local community service organizations. The experience is designed to foster teamwork, reflection, and a deeper understanding of civic engagement.

Registration for the MLK Challenge closes on Friday, Jan. 16. To learn more or to register, visit arkansasheritage.com/mosaic-templars-cultural-center/news-events/annual-events/mlk-challenge
