10 Apr 2017 Morrilton event a hit
The recent Munchin on Main Street event attracted more than 1,000 patrons to Downtown Morrilton.
Seven food trucks, 40 vendors, several classic cars, Harley Davidson motorcycles and a multitude of excited event-goers descended on Downtown Morrilton to participate in the inaugural Munchin on Main Street event. Even a pop-up rain shower in the late afternoon couldn’t keep the crowds away.
Road Hog BBQ came out on top of the Food Truck Face-Off as the top seller for the evening. Vince Scherrey and his crew will have bragging rights as Main Street Morrilton’s favorite food truck until next year’s event. The seven trucks participating in the event reported combined sales of nearly $14,000. Many of the trucks visited local grocery stores to restock during the mid-day break.
Youth volunteers from the Conway County 4-H, Junior Main Street Morrilton and Sacred Heart CYM kept free kids attractions running smoothly throughout the day including two bounce house obstacle courses and face painting. The CC Kruzzers and the Toad Suck Harley Davidson Owners Club had their classic cars and bikes on display for everyone to enjoy. Maximum Overdrive and Matt Stell drew a large crowd to the Wayne Smith Trucking stage for the evening festivities.
Organizers were overwhelmed with the turnout and are excited to start planning for next year. The committee is seeking feedback from event attendees. Please visit the Main Street Morrilton Facebook page and take the “Munchin on Main Street Event Survey.”
