07 Oct 2013 Morrilton Chamber sets awards nomination deadline
The nomination deadline for awards presented by the Morrilton Area Chamber of Commerce is 5 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 9.
The chamber will host its 86th Annual Banquet and Awards Ceremony at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 4, at the Sacred Heart Gymnasium.
The evening will begin with Sacred Heart’s homemade spaghetti dinner followed by a short program. Several distinguished citizens and community projects that have benefited the Morrilton area throughout the past year will be recognized. Winners will be announced in mid-October.
Nominations for the following categories will be accepted: Citizen of the Year, Youth Citizen of the Year, Community Project of the Year, Educator of the Year, Business Site of the Year and Education Project of the Year. Those making nominations may call, come by the chamber or go to Morrilton.com to fill out a nomination form. Award winners will be chosen by a group of judges that review nominations made by individuals and organizations. Judges consider each nominee based on a list of criteria for each award.
The Earle Love Business Leader of the Year award winner will be announced at the banquet. It is the only award chosen by previous winners that have been honored by receiving the award.
Tickets for the Chamber’s 86th Annual Banquet and Awards Ceremony can be purchased for $30 at the Morrilton Area Chamber of Commerce, located at 115 East Broadway in Downtown Morrilton. Several levels of sponsorships are also available.
