The world-renowned Monterey Jazz Festival will visit Donald W. Reynolds Performance Hall at the University of Central Arkansas for a 7:30 p.m. performance on Friday, Jan. 22.

The performance is part of the Monterey Jazz Festival’s fourth North American Tour, featuring critically-acclaimed GRAMMY®-winning jazz artists. The Monterey Jazz Festival on Tour 2016 features Raul Midón on guitar and vocals; Ravi Coltrane on tenor and soprano saxophones; Nicholas Payton on trumpet; musical director Gerald Clayton on piano; Joe Sanders on bass; and Gregory Hutchinson on drums.

“Each of the musicians is individually quite accomplished, from being awarded Grammys to winning international competitions, so when you put them all together on the Reynolds stage, it is going to be a world-class jazz music event,” said Julia Dossett Morgan, director of marketing and finance for UCA Public Appearances. “We really hope people in our area take advantage of their talents at Reynolds. It is not very often we have access to this caliber of jazz musicians.”

The tour’s shows will feature an assortment of classic jazz repertoire and original compositions by band members.
