Mental Health Month observed in Searcy

SEARCY – To commemorate Mental Health Awareness Month in Searcy, Mayor Mat Faulkner signed a proclamation at City Hall with Unity Health Interim President/CEO LaDonna Johnston and members of the behavioral health services leadership team.

“We are grateful to Mayor Faulkner for recognizing the importance of mental health in our community, and we appreciate his efforts to successfully observe this month with dignity and respect for those with mental health needs,” Assistant Vice President of Behavioral Health at Unity Health, Pam Kelly Purvis said, “We hope that through this proclamation members of our community will seek help for their mental health needs.”

“With this proclamation, we want to create awareness and encourage community members to pay attention to their mental health and take it seriously,” Unity Health Interim President/CEO, LaDonna Johnston said. “We want people to understand they can seek help for themselves, friends and family, when things become overwhelming. Everyone experiences difficulties. It is important to know you are not alone and there is help and hope.”
