'Membership Madness' on Thursday

The Conway Regional Women’s Council will host a drop-in “Membership Madness Drive” social and networking event between 4:30 and 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, at Michelangelo’s Italian Restaurant in Downtown Conway.

Prospective members are invited to mingle with other members, hear plans for 2013 and check out the volunteer opportunities available with the Women’s Council. A brief presentation at 5 p.m. will highlight new events and upcoming changes being made to the council. Prospects are encouraged to bring a friend.

Amy Reed of Conway, the 2013 president of the Women’s Council, says the volunteer group is getting ready to shake up how women in the community view health care.

Reed is excited about plans for “updating the Women’s Council’s footprint in 2013.” She said a redesign of Women’s Council activities will include a health care forum/luncheon for women in March, along with some non-traditional activities focused on the community.

“Dazzle Daze is, of course, our signature event and we will continue it,” Reed said, “and we are going to add more programs that will draw women in from the community and help them become an active part of the health care in our community.”

Reed has been a member of the Women’s Council for four years, serving in an at-large position on the Dazzle Daze Committee. She is director of enrollment for non-traditional programs for Central Baptist College in Conway.

The council is open to women ages 18 and older, and all who join during the event will be entered to win a door prize.

General annual membership is $40 and a senior/junior membership is available to those 65 and older and 25 and younger for $20.

Benefits of being a Women’s Council member include:

  • Free entry into to all member programs and events
  • Early entry into the  annual Women’s Health Fair and a “fast-pass” for health screenings
  • Two general admission entry tickets to Dazzle Daze 2013
  • Early entry into Dazzle Daze Girl’s Nite Out (with GNO ticket purchase)
