Maumelle chamber luncheon

On Thursday, March 24, the Maumelle Area Chamber of Commerce will host its bi-monthly Business Brief Luncheon at The Maumelle Country Club located at 100 Club Manor Drive in Maumelle.

The meet and greet will begin at 11:30 a.m. and will give attendees the opportunity to network and make real business connections. A catered lunch and formal program will begin at noon. Cost is $18 and includes the guest speaker and a lunch Catered by The Maumelle Country Club.

Guest speaker for the March meeting is Jennifer Long, executive director of the Children’s Protection Center in Little Rock .The mission of the center is to provide a child-friendly facility where professionals work together to protect and treat child abuse victims and their families, to prevent child abuse in all its forms, and to hold offenders accountable.

"Our response to abuse of a child places the welfare of the child first. We work to meet the needs of children and their non-offending families with sensitivity and competent care. Our team of professionals does everything possible to prevent re-traumatizing a child."

Jennifer will also give a presentation on the River City Dragon Boat Races that will be held Saturday, May 21, at Lake Willastein in Maumelle. All proceeds of the event will benefit the Children’s Protection Center.
