16 Aug 2017 LONOKE: Jackrabbits running behind talented ‘backs

The Lonoke Jackrabbits faced big changes during 2016, as their head coach resigned midway through the season. Taggart Moore was named interim coach and takes over the program full time heading into this fall.

Junior Braidon Bryant returns at quarterback after starting two games last fall. Senior Xavier Hodge is back at running back after rushing for 1,100 yards as a junior. Senior Mike Hodges gives Lonoke another weapon in the backfield. Senior Ethan Mulligan and junior Dalton Smith are the top targets at receiver. Senior Aidan Baddar is back at tight end. Seniors Hunter Clark, James Bryant, Jacob Miller and Farod Muhammed lead the offensive line.

Seniors Keyunta Hatton and Preston Taylor are dominant on the interior defensive line. Juniors Colton Catton and Hunter Kyzer project as starters at defensive end. Hodges, junior Jackson Ward, senior E’shawn Brown and sophomore Carson DeVinney rotate at linebacker. Junior Terry Moore, senior Daniel Seigrist, Smith and senior Tyler Washington defend the secondary.
