Mallory Kirkemier recently won first runner-up in pitching velocity in the skills and drills test for the 15-under USSSA Fastpitch World Series.
Forty-nine teams competed in the event, held in Ankeny, Iowa.
Mallory represented her team, Arkansas Starz, in the 15 and under gold division. The team has players representing Greenbrier, Vilonia and Conway.
