02 Jul 2014 Local boxers win titles

Three local athletes recently won championships during the 2014 Title Boxing National Championship Tournament in Hot Springs.

The following won championships in their division:

Austyn Sitzes, 17, of Greenbrier.
Aliyah Gillespie, 12, of Conway.
Laken Woods, 23, of Conway.

The competition was an elimination tournament held June 18-21.

Other fighters from Conway participating in the event were 16-year-old Thad Kilpatrick and 28-year-old Bobby Watson. Both were eliminated in the semi-finals.

All of the athletes train at Gillespie Boxing.
