27 Nov 2024 Little Rock’s return home spoiled by hot-handed Murray State
Little Rock Women’s Basketball returned to the Jack Stephens Center on Tuesday after three straight road games but was handed a 105-57 loss by Murray State in the final non-conference contest before the Thanksgiving holiday. Little Rock fell to 1-5 overall, while the Racers moved up to 3-2.
Three Trojans reached double figures in scoring, led by Faith Lee’s 14 points. Lee scored 12 of her total after intermission and added three steals with a pair of rebounds. Jordan Holman made 6-of-9 shots from the floor and finished with 13 points to go with three rebounds and two assists. Sug Williams tossed in 10 as the trio accounted for 37 of the Trojans’ 57 points.
Mesi Triplett scored nine points and led Little Rock with six rebounds, including three on the offensive glass. Brenna Burk scored five off the bench, and Emerald Parker finished with four points, five rebounds and a block. Jayla Brooks added three assists and three rebounds, as well as a pair of steals. Ashley Lester finished with four boards.
Little Rock will have a week off before hosting Arkansas State on Dec. 3 at 7 pm. The Trojans will wrap up the non-conference portion of their schedule with consecutive road games at Central Arkansas (Dec. 7) and Missouri State (Dec. 14). Conference play begins Dec. 19 at home against SIUE.
