Little Rock Roadrunners to meet

Little Rock Roadrunners Club will have its monthly meeting at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 17, at U.S. Pizza in Hillcrest, 2710 Kavanaugh Blvd. The meeting takes place in the upstairs party room and is open to the public.

Jeff Glasbrenner’s motivational public speaking inspires people all over the world. His opportunity in life came at 8 years old, on the day he was involved in a traumatic farming accident that left him a below-the-knee amputee. Most would call this a tragedy, but he considers this his greatest opportunity, which he chose to embrace by continually excelling at wheelchair basketball, triathlons, and by being a husband and father to two children.

The Junior League of Little Rock (JLLR) will have its inaugural Downtown Dash 10K/5K at 8 a.m. Saturday, March 15. As the name suggests, the family-friendly 10K and 5K races will take place in Downtown Little Rock.

Online registration is available now through Thursday, March 13, at jllr.org/downtowndash. Mail-in registrations must be postmarked by Friday, March 7. On-site race day registration will also be available.

Little Rock Roadrunner Club meetings are held on the third Monday of each month. Members and prospective members are encouraged to attend to learn about the latest in the local running community and to be updated on club events and plans. Meetings provide a social setting to engage with old friends and make new connections.
