Little Rock Marathon event fees to increase Friday

At midnight on Friday, Oct. 31, registration fees for all 2015 Little Rock Marathon events will increase and athletes planning to participate may want to register soon rather than later.

The Little Rock Marathon Weekend is presented by the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette and benefits Little Rock Parks & Recreation.

"Our training program is in full swing, and people are starting to feel confident about undertaking a marathon or half marathon in the spring,” said Gina Pharis, co-executive director of the Little Rock Marathon. "We’ve seen a surge in registrants over the last few weeks and expect registrations to continue to pick up throughout the fall.”

Other events taking place during race weekend include the Little Rock Half Marathon, presented by Baptist Health; the Little Rock 10K, presented by Windstream Communications; the Little Rock 5K; the Little Rockers Kids Marathon, presented by Today’s THV Channel 11; and the Little Rock Marathon Health & Fitness Expo.

The marathon, half marathon and 10K races have sold out in previous years and race officials anticipate another sell out in 2015.

The 2015 Little Rock Marathon is also sponsored in part by the Little Rock Convention & Visitors Bureau, the Heart of Arkansas, Whole Hog Café-North Little Rock, Premium Refreshment, Fence World, KARK Channel 4, Rock City Running, the Little Rock Marriott, the Hatcher Agency, Delta Dental, Crowne Plaza, Go!Running, Hiland Dairy, Capital Hotel, Dassault Falcon Jet and Datamax of Arkansas.

Registration will be available online at littlerockmarathon.com through 11:59 p.m. Friday, Feb. 20.  A mail-in registration form is also available on the registration page of the website or by calling race headquarters at 501.371.4639. Mail-in registration forms must be postmarked by Feb. 20.
