Life in Conway: Family’s journey in photos

by Brenda McClain

Marvin and Ollie Reynolds were by most standards poor, yet the values they conveyed have traveled well through these past 100 years. The two raised seven children who loved them and each other endlessly.

Josie Dee Reynolds McClain was born in 1918. The middle of seven children, Josie eventually relocated to Little Rock before marrying in 1949. Though she traveled with her husband as an Air Force wife, Conway was never far from her heart. Her stories of Conway were always poignant, colorful and fun.

Do you remember the family slideshows? We all had them. And we all got tired of seeing slide after slide of the family vacation. Now, they are treasures.

How brilliant was Charles Ray Robinson for capturing photos of family and travels? His widow, Dorothy Marvine, passed them on to her son, Gary Robinson of North Little Rock.

An offshoot of BrendaMcClain.com, cousin Gary Robinson shares life in Conway as chronicled by his father. With the blessing of folks at 501 LIFE, we are sharing a few with you in the 100th issue.
