21 Sep 2013 Life Choices to host annual gala
Life Choices, the pregnancy resource center in Conway, will hold its annual fundraising Gala on Tuesday, Oct. 1, at the Conway Expo Center and Fairgrounds.
The featured speaker for the semi-formal event will be Shari Rigby, an actress in the acclaimed movie “October Baby.”
Jeff Matthews, of Little Rock radio station B98.5 and a host for Wampus Cat Football presented by Conway Corporation, will serve as the master of ceremonies for the event. Guests will enjoy a delicious meal prepared by Chef Jill McCollum.
The movie is the coming-of-age story of a 19-year-old girl who discovers she was adopted. Then she hits the road, determined to find her birth mother. In that search, she uncovers more unsettling secrets, including the fact that she is the survivor of a failed abortion. The trip also leads her toward hope, meaning, forgiveness and reconciliation.
The proceeds from these events will be used to fund Life Choices services to the Central Arkansas community. For more than 31 years, Life Choices has supported the women and men of Central Arkansas who find themselves confronted by an unplanned pregnancy. Among its free services, Life Choices offers pregnancy tests, limited obstetrical ultrasounds, pregnancy options as well as a parenting education and material assistance program.
