LAKE HAMILTON: Wolves switch up offense under Gilleran

Conference: 6A West
Coach: Tommy Gilleran
’16 Record: 6-5

After a 6-5 finish and first-round playoff loss, the Lake Hamilton Wolves head into the fall with their third coach in three years. Luckily for the Wolves, it’s Lake Hamilton alum Tommy Gilleran, who coached nearby Fountain Lake for more than a decade.

Senior Utah Aitken competed at quarterback for the Wolves in the spring. Senior Jacob Nichols provides leadership in the backfield at running back after starting a full season as a junior. Senior Randall Nichols starts at fullback, and classmate Cole Huneycutt holds down a wingback spot in the Wolves’ new Wing T. Senior Zack Tisdale and junior Kanaan Williams swap at tight end. Seniors William Burgess, Michael Haygood, Cole Speer, Caleb House, Matthew Chancellor and Hunter Przytarski rotate on the offensive line.

Seniors Hunter Hughes and Asa Gatlin and junior Eli Vaughn project as starters on the defensive line. Aitken, Williams and junior Ray Hamp bring experience at linebacker. Juniors Montrevis Darrough, Kadin Kemp, Blaine Merriott, Jacob Nichols and sophomore Braden Braughton rotate in the secondary.
