LAKE HAMILTON: Wolves look to bounce back in 2013

Conference: 7A/6A South
Coach: Jerry Clay
’12 Record: 7-5 (4-3)

A program is great when seven wins feels like a down year. Lake Hamilton experienced an uncharacteristic season last fall, winning just seven games and falling out of the playoffs in the second round to Jonesboro.

Senior Nathan Sawrie assumes the quarter- back role in 2013. Possible targets for Sawrie include seniors Trevor Mittlestadt, Josh Chancellor and Austin Gilbert. Senior Spencer Magby anchors the offensive line and looks to provide additional protection for Sawrie in the pocket.

Chris Eastburn is an explosive pass rusher and exhibits great speed on offense.

The senior 501 Football Team nominee will most certainly turn heads for the Wolves in 2013.

“Chris is a very tough, physical player and has a great ‘nose for the ball,’” Coach Jerry Clay said. “He is a leader in every sense of the word and has the best hands on the team.”

Five defensive starters return this fall, including Eastburn and seniors Jared Henderson and Quin Treat at linebacker. Mittlestadt is an experienced pass defender.

The unit will be tested in conference play against powerhouses Bryant, El Dorado  and Pine Bluff.
