K-Life Nineteen Eighty 5K 'best fundraiser' for organization

More than 300 runners, spectators and volunteers – many dressed in 1980s attire – were in attendance at the recent “Nineteen Eighty 5K” benefitting K-Life.

According to Anderson Wilkins, area director for Conway K-Life, there were 216 runners in this year’s event which represented the largest group to participate. The run raised more than $13,000 for the program and is one of three major fundraising events.

Top finishers were Eric Goodwin of Conway with a time of 17.56, Jacob Dubois of Cabot at 18.36 and Derek Bollan of Russellville at 20.40. The top finishing female was K-Life member Brynn Lea of Conway with a time of 22.45.

“The fourth annual 1985K was one of the best fundraisers for K-Life,” Wilkins said. “The atmosphere was awesome and the participants were electric with excitement. The committee agrees that the local families, businesses and community support make this event the most fun.”
