JUNETEENTH 2014 "A Unified Community" will be held on Saturday, June 21, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the corner of Sutton and Pine Streets across from the Zion Temple Church of God in Conway.
This event is hosted by the Faulkner County branch of the NAACP and is free to the community and visitors. Food, entertainment and prizes will be offered.
JUNETEENTH is a holiday that celebrates the emancipation of African Americans from slavery but has come to signigy much more. It is a landmark in history that is to be celebrated by all Americans, as it is significant to the freedom and unity we all share. It is made possible by the unwavering support of businesses, organizations and the individuals in the community.
