LITTLE ROCK — Little Rock is preparing to host the state’s largest Juneteenth holiday celebrations on June 15. The weekend will offer Arkansas residents and guests a rich schedule of family-friendly events, live entertainment, culinary delights and Civil Rights experiences to celebrate African American freedom and the contributions of Black culture and achievement to the state.
“Little Rock is proud to host this lineup of inclusive events and experiences that promise to deliver a profound celebration of culture, freedom, achievement and, of course, plenty of fun for all,” said Gina Gemberling, president and CEO of Little Rock Convention & Visitors Bureau. “We look forward to hosting people from across the state to experience the cultural unity that this significant holiday brings to our city.”
Attendees will find a variety of events and activities available to build a full weekend itinerary to observe and honor the federal holiday. The public is invited to join these Juneteenth celebrations in Little Rock:
Juneteenth Arkansas Festival
The Juneteenth Arkansas Festival will take place on June 15 at the First Security Amphitheater, located at 400 President Clinton Ave. The festival will kick off at 2 p.m. with a parade from 100 Arch St. to 300 President Clinton Ave., followed by a lineup of festival events until 10 p.m. This family-friendly event will feature a variety of activities, live music and performers. Attendees can explore over 80 vendors and savor delicious offerings from 24 food trucks. The festival will conclude with a celebratory fireworks display at 9:30 p.m.
Juneteenth in Da Rock
Organized by the Mosaic Templars Cultural Center, Juneteenth in Da Rock will be held on June 15 at 501 W. 9th Street. The event will begin with a 5k run/walk at 7 a.m., and will continue with a brunch, flag-raising ceremony, and a lively street festival with unforgettable musical performances until 6 p.m. Additional activities include an open house at the historic Dreamland Ballroom from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
