JESSIEVILLE: Lions building on success under Burk

Conference: 5-3A
Coach: T.J. Burk
’16 Record: 6-5

The Jessieville Lions punched a playoff ticket last fall for the first time since 2012. The Lions look to build off that success behind second-year head coach T.J. Burk this fall.

Senior Adam Saveall takes over the quarterback spot full time after tossing four touchdowns last fall. Seniors Colton Ault and Dylan Wright lead the Jessieville ground game. Junior Austin Chandler is the Lions’ top returning receiving threat, splitting time between receiver and tight end. Seniors Dale Scott and Logan Perkins and juniors Jeffery Scott, Tyler Holloway and Eric Robertson project as starters on the offensive line.

Dale Scott and junior Eric Robertson give the Lions strength up front on the defensive line. Seniors Hunter Ault and Justin Herron, junior Luke Wilson and sophomore Austin Carl project as starters at linebacker. B.J. Holloway, Gage Triolo, Wright, Lathan Brian and Edwin Kacynski defend the secondary.
