19 Aug 2016 Jacob’s Place plans fundraiser
Jacob’s Place recently announced a fundraiser, in conjunction with Southern Bank and Main Street Searcy’s event “Movie in the Park.”
Jacob’s Place Homeless Mission provides temporary housing for homeless families with children in White County. They also work to empower the homeless by providing financial, spiritual, emotional and job counseling while receiving shelter.
This year, Jacob’s Place is turning “Movie in the Park” into dinner and a movie. They will be selling meals before the movie with proceeds benefiting Jacob’s Place operations. The barbecue sandwich dinner is available from 4 to 6 p.m. and will consist of a sandwich, chips and bottled water.
Southern Bank and Main Street Searcy have announced the 2016 “Movie in The Park” will be held Saturday, Aug. 27, at Spring Park in Searcy. Admission to the film is free, and begins at 7 p.m., with the movie beginning at dusk. This year, the “Movie in The Park” will be Disney’s “Zootopia,” about a bunny cop and a fox con-artist who team up to solve a mystery.
“Southern Bank has graciously allowed us to be a part of their great family event. We appreciate the opportunity to make more people aware of the mission of Jacob’s Place to serve the homeless in White County,” said Jacob’s Place board member Noel Whitlock.
Tickets for the dinner are $5 per meal and are available for early purchase at Jacob’s Place office 301 East Market Avenue in Searcy, or by contacting Noel Whitlock at 501.593.7003. Tickets will also be available at the event.
