CONWAY — University of Central Arkansas guard Camren Hunter was named Monday to the 2023-24 preseason All-Atlantic Sun basketball team in conjunction with the ASUN Basketball Tip-off event held in Clarksville, Tenn.

Hunter, a 6-foot-3, 200-pound junior from Bryant (Saline County) is a two-time All-ASUN selection and was the ASUN Freshman of the Year in 2021-22.

Hunter led the Bears in scoring last season, averaging 16.9 points per game. He also led UCA in assists (3.9) and steals (1.5) while also averaging 5.0 rebounds and minutes played (33.9). Hunter scored in double figures in 27 of 30 games, with highs of 33 points at Queens and 28 vs. Rider.

Hunter made 50 three-pointers and shot 78.6 percent from the field.

UCA opens the regular season on Monday, Nov. 6 at Tulsa. The first home contest for the Bears is Friday, Nov 10 against Hendrix. Prior to that, UCA will play an exhibition fundraiser at Arkansas State on Monday, Oct. 30 to benefit the tornado relief effort for the city of Wynne, Ark.
