08 Jul 2020 Holloway breaks track record
Conway High School sophomore Madison Holloway broke a 36-year-old record at the team’s first meet on March 5 during what would become a short track season.
Madison broke the Conway High girl’s high jump record of 5’4″set in 1984. She jumped 5’6″ and won the high jump medal that night, which helped rank her No. 1 in Arkansas and 18th in the U.S in the event.
Last year as a freshman, she finished second at the 6A state meet as well as second at the Meet of Champs.
Madison is not new to breaking records. She holds five records at Ruth Doyle Middle School and two at Conway Junior High. She also competes in long jump and triple jump and ran hurdles.
A competitor on bigger stages such as the AAU and USATF Junior Olympic Championships, Madison previously won medals in long jump, triple jump and high jump.
She is also a member of the high school varsity volleyball team and Beta Club.
