Holliday joins UCA Baseball coaching staff

CONWAY — The University of Central Arkansas baseball program has added Heath Holliday to its coaching staff for the 2025-26 season. Holliday will be the Bears’ hitting/catching coach and recruiting coordinator, according to head coach Nick Harlan.

Holliday comes to UCA from a one-year stint as an assistant coach at the University of Texas Arlington. Prior to that, he was an assistant coach at Austin Peay University. Holliday, a native of Bixby, Okla., was an area scouting supervisor for the Los Angeles Dodgers from 2017-21.

Holliday, the cousin of former MLB All-Star Matt Holliday and Oklahoma State head baseball coach Josh Holliday, played two seasons at OSU and also served as director of operations for the Cowboys for two seasons (2015-17), helping OSU reach the 2016 NCAA College World Series.

“Heath is extremely bright and is a tremendous teacher and evaluator of talent. His positive energy is contagious,” said Harlan. “He has experience both as a Major League Baseball scout and successful recruiting coordinator and hitting coach.

“Most importantly, Heath values relationships and is committed to his family. He is going to make an immediate impact on the lives of our players. We are excited to welcome Heath, Mychelle and their children Mia, Houston, and Henry to the Bear family!”
