The 30th Annual World Championship Cardboard Boat Races were held in July at Sandy Beach at Heber Springs.

Green Bay Packaging’s Tulsa and Arkansas Kraft Divisions were among the competitors, winning the Pride of the Fleet Award and the Captain’s Award for team spirit. Team members included Al Raper, plant manager Ryan Boegh, Rick Goleman, Jeff Brame and David Rochester, from Tulsa; and Jordan Ogle, Dewayne Hallsell and Brandi Waters, from Arkansas.

Other activities included a treasure dig, watermelon eating contest, Lucky Duck Races and a volleyball tournament.
