Head joins University of Central Arkansas as director of media relations

CONWAY — The University of Central Arkansas (UCA) selected Tiffany L. Head as its new director of media relations in mid-September. A seasoned communicator with more than two decades of experience in journalism, media relations and public relations, Head will lead UCA’s media strategy to advance the university’s mission and strengthen its visibility.

Tiffany L. Head

Head joins UCA from Arkansas PBS, where she served for 21 years, most recently as marketing and communications manager. In that role, she initiated and executed statewide publicity campaigns, oversaw crisis communications, cultivated relationships with local and national media, and presented at national conferences. She previously held roles as promotions supervisor and publicist at the network, where she expanded community partnerships, grew earned media coverage and built programs that highlighted public service media.

“It is a privilege to return to my alma mater and serve the university in this role,” Head said. “I look forward to working with our students, faculty and staff to tell UCA’s story and to foster strong relationships with media partners and the community.”

As director of media relations, Head will coordinate university-wide media outreach, oversee responses to press inquiries, and drive initiatives that enhance UCA’s brand through compelling storytelling and cross-platform communication.

Earlier in her career, Head worked as education editor at The Times Dispatch in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas, and served as editor of The Echo, UCA’s student newspaper.

Tiffany (Verkler) Head earned a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications/Journalism from the University of Central Arkansas, graduating cum laude, and is a native of Black Rock, Ark.
