Harding player named GAC Defensive Player of the Week

RUSSELLVILLE – The Great American Conference announced the volleyball players of the week for the tenth week of the 2024 season. Southwestern Oklahoma State’s Lacy Mott won Offensive Player of the Week; Harding’s Jacey Lambert and Southern Nazarene’s Tatum Smith shared Defensive Player of the Week while the Crimson Storm’s Emma Grace Moddelmog claimed Setter of the Week.

#theGAC VOLLEYBALL OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Lacy Mott, OH, Southwestern Oklahoma State, Sr., Waxahachie, Texas

Mott dominated in two crucial victories. She led the Bulldogs to their first-ever win at Oklahoma Baptist by tallying 30 kills and hitting .406 in the five-set epic. She registered the first 30-kill performance in the GAC this season. In a sweep of East Central, she notched 20 kills and hit .385 as SWOSU secured the top seed for next week’s GAC Volleyball Championships.

#theGAC VOLLEYBALL DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Jacey Lambert, OH, Harding, Jr., Pingree Grove, Illinois

Lambert averaged 1.25 blocks per set across contests against Ouachita Baptist and Henderson State. In a four-set match with the Tigers, she came up with a match-high eight blocks. In a four-set win against the Reddies, she added two blocks. She contributed 17 kills on offense.

#theGAC VOLLEYBALL DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Tatum Smith, L, Southern Nazarene, Sr., Deer Park, Texas

Smith averaged 7.13 digs per set as the Crimson Storm split their matches with Northwestern Oklahoma State and Oklahoma Baptist. Against the Rangers, she came up with 28 digs in the four-set win. She added four assists and an ace. Against the Bison, she totaled 29 digs – her second-best total of the season. She added six assists.

#theGAC VOLLEYBALL SETTER OF THE WEEK – Emma Grace Moddelmog, S, Southern Nazarene, So., Fort Collins, Colorado

Moddelmog recorded her ninth and tenth double-doubles of the season. Against Northwestern Oklahoma State she dished out 50 assists and added 12 digs as the Crimson Storm claimed a four-set win. She followed up with 40 assists, 10 digs and four service aces against Oklahoma Baptist.
