30 Mar 2016 Greenbrier makes plans for Big Event Spring Fling
The City of Greenbrier will host a Big Event Spring Fling on Friday, April 15, and Saturday, April 16.
The event is to celebrate the completion of the third annual Mayor’s 107+ Challenge and to raise funds for the Greenbrier Volunteer Fire Department to paint the new ladder truck.
Friday night will be Praise Fest, with live music provided by local talent. Volunteer firemen will be grilling food.
Saturday’s festivities will kick off with the Moustache Dash 5K and one mile walk with Mayor Sammy Joe Hartwick leading the way. JR Runyon from MyCountry Y107 will be the emcee for the morning awards ceremony, including a moustache and beard contest.
There will be live music in the afternoon with American Idol contestant Kailey Abel as the headliner.
The Kidz Zone will feature three bounce houses including a sumo-wrestling ring, games, crafts, and more.
Guests will be able to get basic health screenings, get a mammogram in the UAMS Mammovan, and give blood in the Red Cross Bloodmobile.
There will be a variety of vendor booths to browse including plants, gifts, crafts, home goods, clothing and more. Those attending can even have a family photo made for free in the OSP Imaging photo booth.
Several local churches are helping with the event.
Current sponsors are MyCountry Y107, KingGraphics, OSP Imaging, First Security Bank, the Greenbrier Chamber of Commerce and Whit Davis Lumber. A few sponsorship opportunities are still available.
