15 Aug 2018 Greenbrier 8U Baseball All-Stars win All-Star State Tournament

The Greenbrier 8U Baseball All Star Team competed and won the All Star State Championship Tournament held in Conway.

In a division that included 29 All Star Teams from across the state, the Greenbrier team had an impressive 7-0 record for the tournament.

The Greenbrier 8U Baseball All Star Team includes: Grayson Linville (front, from left), Alex Court, Austin Marsh, Garrett Thompson, CJ Bryant; Troy Cody (middle), Cardan Foster, Drake Coleman, Sam Palmer, Kyler Harrison, Tyler Erion; coaches Jon Daniel (back), Drew Foster, Coty Linville and JJ Palmer.

The 11 players of the Greenbrier 8U All-Star Team are chosen by coaches in the Greenbrier Youth Baseball League, which has around 100 boys eligible to be on an 8U team.

Greenbrier 8U faced Fayetteville and Lake Hamilton in pool play on Saturday, winning 11-3 and 12-4.

In tournament play on Sunday, Greenbrier 8U went on to defeat Woodlawn 21-6, Warren 16-1, Van Buren 16-1, WCCL from Farmington 21-9 and then Monticello 9-8 for the championship.
