Geer named GAC Defensive Player of the Week

RUSSELLVILLE — The Great American Conference announced the women’s basketball players of the week for the second week of the 2024-25 season. Henderson State’s Jadah Pickens earned Offensive Player of the Week and Harding’s Rory Geer claimed Defensive Player of the Week.

#theGAC WOMEN’S BASKETBALL OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Jadah Pickens, G, Henderson State, Gr., Conway, Arkansas

Pickens led the Reddies to a 10-point win against Delta State on Wednesday. She registered the second 30-point performance of her career as she scored 30 points on 12-of-20 shooting. She made both of her 3-point tries and grabbed five rebounds. She added three assists, two steals and a block.

#theGAC WOMEN’S BASKETBALL DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Rory Geer, G, Harding, Sr., Grove, Oklahoma

Geer helped the Lady Bisons in their stout defensive performance against Cameron. In the 30-point road victory, she picked up four steals and grabbed 12 rebounds. The Lady Bisons limited the Aggies to 25.9 percent shooting and 13.6 percent on 3-point tries. Geer added 15 points for a double-double.
