Free classes teach seniors how to stop unwanted phone calls

CONWAY — A local business is hosting free classes that teach senior adults how to stop unwanted phone calls. Stop the Calls classes aim to empower individuals with strategies to manage and reduce unwanted solicitation calls that target Medicare beneficiaries.

Lindsay Davis teaches a Stop the Calls class to senior citizens.

Hosted by the Arkansas Medicare Resource Center, the sessions cover practical tips, legal rights, and technological tools that minimize harassing calls and protect privacy. Participants learn how to identify scams, utilize call-blocking technology, navigate Do Not Call lists and report disruptions to the FCC.

Arkansas Medicare Resource Center is owned by Josh and Lindsay Davis who believe that part of being a resource for the community is providing solutions to the challenges that aging neighbors face. That is why they specialize in navigating Medicare, Social Security, long-term care, life insurance, annuities and how to find help for low-income Medicare beneficiaries.

Upcoming classes will be held on May 10 at 10:15 a.m. at the Faulkner County Senior Wellness & Activity Center and on May 22 at 10 a.m. at the Faulkner County Library.
