Former Harding discus thrower places 14th at USA Olympic Trials

SEARCY — Former Harding University All-American discus thrower Josh Syrotchen recently placed 14th in the discus at the U.S. Olympic Trials in Eugene, Oregon. His best throw was 59.10 meters. The top three finishers, who had already reached the Olympic standard, will represent the U.S. in Paris.

Syrotchen earned First Team All-America at Harding in 2016 and 2017 and holds the school record with a throw of 60.56m or 198 feet, 8 inches. His career-best throw is 66.21 meters, and the Olympic standard is 67.20 meters.
