The Little Rock Fair War Eagles put up a big goose egg in 2008, finishing winless and dead last in the 6A-South.

The good news is that the War Eagles played mostly sophomores and juniors last fall, which means they will have experience returning on the field in 2009.

Fair averaged a measly 10.6 points per game in 2008. The War Eagles return seniors all across the offense: Charles Rice (6-2, 200) at quarterback, Nate Greer (5-11, 225) at tailback, Reginald Lewis (6-4, 210) at receiver and Xavier McKenzie at guard.

Seniors Bryant Maxwell (6-3, 240) and James Lark (5-11, 175) return to lead the defense. Maxwell anchors the defense at middle linebacker, and Lark prowls in the secondary at safety.

The defending 6A state champion Lake Hamilton Wolves remain near the top of the 6A-South, along with Pine Bluff, El Dorado, Texarkana and Watson Chapel.
