The Little Rock Christian Warriors finished 7-4 in 2008, falling at Siloam Springs, 24-20, in the first round of the state playoffs.

Little Rock Christian Academy went as its offense went. The Warriors averaged a hefty 33.4 points per game in their seven wins, but they only managed 14.3 points in their four losses.

The 2009 success of the Warriors will begin and end with senior tailback Michael Dyer (5-9, 210). Dyer rushed for 1,984 yards and 19 touchdowns with a bum ankle last fall. He is a two-time all-state selection, and he is the force that makes the Warriors go.

Senior quarterback Jesse Stone (6-2, 175) returns after starting nine games in 2008. Stone was forced into the role after the Warriors’ starting quarterback was injured. Stone passed for almost 1,200 yards and 12 touchdowns; he had never played quarterback before.

Senior Dakota Mosley (6-6, 250) provides a big target for Stone at tight end. Mosley received all-state honors in 2008.

The Warriors will battle the defending state champions – the Pulaski Academy Bruins – and Magnolia for the top spot in the 5A-Southwest.
