The Little Rock Central Tigers were winless in 2008, scoring more than 14 points in only one game.

Coach Bernie Cox will look to put last year’s failures behind the Tigers and get back on the winning side in 2009.

Little Rock Central returns three starters on offense, including senior quarterback Adam Meeks (6-1, 180). Classmate Eric Fears (6-0, 220) returns to protect Meeks on the offensive line at one guard position. Senior Marlon Bramlett (5-10, 220) joins Fears on the line at the other guard spot.

The Tigers will have no worries in the kicking game as Junior Walker Hawkins (5-9, 150) returns for his third year of handling the kicking duties.

The Tigers start four senior linebackers in their 5-4 defense: Blake James (6-2, 220), Trent Magsby (6-3, 240), Larrick Williams (6-0, 190) and Chase Dillon (6-0, 180).

The Tigers have a tough road to hold in the 7A-Central, facing the likes of the defending conference champs, Cabot, a deep North Little Rock and a new-look Conway.
