The Little Rock Catholic Rockets aired it out more than normal in 2008, finishing 7-5 and tying for second in the 7A-Central.
The Rockets beat Fayetteville, 35-21, in the first round of the playoffs before falling at Fort Smith Southside, 28-17.
Senior Taylor Bartlett (5-8, 170) returns after passing for more than 2,300 yards in 2008. Bartlett is entering his third year as the Rockets’ quarterback.
Senior Garrett Uekman (6-3, 240) provides strength and solid hands at tight end. Uekman is Barltett’s primary receiving option.
Senior Stacy Hunter (6-1, 205) provides experience at outside linebacker. Two seniors return in the secondary: Hunter Rankin (5-11, 160) and Eric Redmon (5-9, 170). Redmon is entering his third season as a starter at cornerback.
Thirteen returning starters will battle against Cabot, the defending conference champion, a deep North Little Rock, Bryant and Russellville.
