Food trucks, music and fun planned Saturday in Morrilton

Main Street Morrilton has a full schedule of events planned for Munchin on Main Street, presented by the City of Morrilton, on Saturday, March 24, in Downtown Morrilton.  

Beginning at 11 a.m., food trucks, vendor booths and children’s activities will be open to the public. Live music will also begin at 11 a.m. on the Wayne Smith Trucking stage and the beer garden will open. Featured acts include Akeem Kemp Band, Matt Stell, Maximum Overdrive, Faith Thomas, Hannah and Dylan Kordsmeier, Chasity Bailey and Ayla Hoelzeman. KVOM will be broadcasting live from the event. Last call for the beer garden is at 8:30 p.m. and the winner of the Food Truck Face-Off will be announced at that time.

The ladies of the Conway County Extension Homemakers are hosting a pie baking contest from 2 to 4 p.m. After the contest, pies will be sold by the slice, with proceeds benefitting Room 29:11, an organization that supports foster families in Conway County. Non-profits participating and offering free children’s activities include: Bethel MBC, Petit Jean Garden Club, Area Agency on Aging of West Central Arkansas, Morrilton First Church of the Nazarene, Arkansas Health and Wellness, Project Linus, UAMS Kids First and Community Service, Inc.
