“I’m thrilled to begin a new chapter as the marketing and fundraising coordinator with Cabot Animal Support Services (CASS), collaborating with organizations like Lyon College to create initiatives that support animal welfare in ways our community has never seen before,” she said. “It’s exciting to live out my vision of service while helping others, both human and animal, thrive.”

A graduate of the University of Central Arkansas, Abbott majored in marketing, which undoubtedly has helped her with her numerous outreach projects over the years. “I volunteer with Mount Carmel Baptist Church, and I’m also active with the City of Cabot Downtown Christmas Committee,” she said. “I’m always happy to lend a hand wherever our community needs support.”

Being a mom is her favorite role. “I have two amazing sons: Ethan, 17, and Andrew, 13,” she said. “This keeps me busy, from Panthers football games to baseball practices. I also enjoy get-togethers with friends, spending time at Greers Ferry Lake, and exploring towns and events across Arkansas.” Originally from Sherwood, she has called Cabot home since 2020.

Abbott is proud to have overcome some tall obstacles, including a journey with cancer and being a domestic violence survivor. “These experiences shaped me and strengthened my commitment to giving back to my community. I want to be known as someone who loves her community deeply and serves with joy, faith, and purpose. … My goal is always to lift people up. Cabot has blessed me in so many ways, and I want my work to reflect that gratitude,” she said.

Abbott is the former events and membership coordinator with the Cabot Area Chamber of Commerce and continues to work as executive director for the Cabot Area Home Builders Association (CASS).

“It is clear that Rachel has made a significant impact on the Cabot community,” said Mayor Ken Kincade. “During her tenure at the Chamber, she was recognized for her leadership and dedication to local economic growth. Now serving as a key team member for the City of Cabot, her expertise in community development and professional networking continues to benefit the city’s strategic initiatives.”

Abbott hopes to help grow and strengthen the community programs at CASS so more families and pets can stay together. “I also want to continue supporting our local builders and trade programs through the Cabot Area Home Builders Association, especially as we encourage students to explore career paths that don’t require a traditional four-year degree,” she added.

“Helping bridge workforce gaps while also helping build a healthier, more compassionate community is a dream come true. I’m excited to play a small role in the development of the Lyon College School of Veterinary Medicine as it comes to Cabot.”

And what advice does Rachel Abbott have for others who yearn to be a helper and a servant for good? “Show up, be genuine, and serve with your whole heart. Don’t be afraid to say yes and get involved — that’s how relationships grow and impact happens. Let your faith guide your steps, and trust that God will put you exactly where you’re needed.”
