Faulkner library plans book-signing

The Faulkner County Library will welcome local author, Skylar Overman, to a book-signing at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 21.

Skylar is the author of “Sky’s High Dreams.” She is in the sixth grade and participates in dance, cheer and pageants.

She also has a rare birth defect called Schizencephaly. She is a medically complex and medically fragile child who has big dreams and is full of love. Sky is in a wheelchair and is non-verbal.

Skylar was placed on hospice a few years ago, and she and her mom created a bucket list. One of the things on that list was to publish a book.  Skylar is a strong girl with a huge heart, and she wants to raise awareness for Schizencephaly and help families of children with special needs.

All library events are free and open to the public.
