24 Feb 2013 Faulkner Co. Healthy Weight Coalition hosts public forum
The Faulkner County Healthy Weight Coalition will host a public forum on obesity prevention through public health and community change at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 26.
Change the World, Cinch the Waistline is a community forum with expert panelists, including Dr. Joe Bates, deputy state officer at the Arkansas Department of Health, and a screening of HBO’S “Weight of the Nation.”
Monica Wilson, local health unit administrator of Faulkner County, said, “The Faulkner County Health Unit and Faulkner County Healthy Weight Coalition are excited to be a part of the statewide observance of 100 years of public health in Arkansas. We’re inviting the public to attend our local event, ‘Cinch the Waistline, Change the World?’ at the Faulkner County Library at 6 p.m.”
Refreshments will be provided by the University of Central Arkansas Dietetic Department.
